Machine washing
1.Wash your towels once a week. Some manufacturers and home improvement columnists recommend washing your towels every three to four days, but if you keep your towels in a draftable place without steam, wash them once a week.
If the towel has an unpleasant smell or humid climate,it should be washed every few days.
2.Wash towels and other clothes separately(optional).Towels tend to absorb the color of other clothes, and the fluff removed may also curl up small clothes, affecting the cleaning effect. To save time, wash them with your clothes, but it's best to wash them separately.
Separate washing is recommended to prevent stains and bacteria from contaminating other clothing.
3,color separation wash.Mixing clothes at different depths can cause light colors to stain and dark colors to fade.Towels absorb water easily,so separate them if you don't want them to discolor.Especially the new towels.
Light towels should only be washed with light clothes.Wash dark towels with dark clothes.
4,be sure to carefully clean before use.In order to increase the appearance, manufacturers will add softeners to the towel, which will affect the water absorption of the towel,so the new towel should be cleaned before use.Since new towels fade easily, only use half as much as usual when you first wash them, and 120-240 ml of white vinegar will also reduce fading.
If you are fussy, add white vinegar after the first two or three washes.
5.The washing amount of detergent is half of the conventional amount.Too much detergent can damage the towel and reduce its softness. If washing only towels, use half the amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer.Wash expensive fine towels, making sure to use a mild cleaner. The cleaner is poured directly into the"sink"of the washing machine,or directly into the washing machine.
If the towel is washed with other clothes,or the towel is particularly dirty, the amount of detergent is normal.
The detergent package has instructions. Many laundry detergents come with measuring cups on the lid labeled with recommended dosage lines.
6.Use a towel to clean.Wash white and light towels in hot water. Most dark towels are washed in warm water, thinking the hot water will make them fade. However,if the towel is linen or lace delicate,it is best to wash with cold water.
If the towel is dirty, even muslin should be washed in warm water. The hotter the water, the cleaner the wash.
7.Reduce or eliminate softeners. There are special"softener tanks"in the washing machine for separating from the detergent.Although softeners can soften clothes, they can reduce their absorbency. If you want to extend the life of your towel and increase softness, you can use a softener, but only three or four times after each use.
Looking at the washing machine manual, there is no"softener tank".
8.Use non-chlorine bleach powder or white vinegar every three or four times to kill bacteria.Add 120 ml white vinegar to remove odor and mold from the towel. To improve the bactericidal effect, use 180 ml of chlorine free bleach. If you are washing dark towels, choose a bleach that does not fade.
Put the bleach powder into the tank.If you use a two clamshell washing machine without a special bleach tank, you can dilute the powder with 1 litre of water and run it in wash mode for 5 minutes.
9.Add white vinegar to the final process.Pour it into the"softener tank"or pour it straight into the clamshell washer near the end of the wash.
